Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Iwao Wada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Brito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wada comes to the cage accompanied by Kickstart My Heart. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Murilo Brito!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Brito misses.
Brito stuffs the takedown attempt from Wada. Wada gets slowly back to his feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brito darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Iwao Wada has been cut.
Brito misses with a double jab.
A little feinted left hand from Wada on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Brito throws a hook but Wada blocks it.
Wada looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wada shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brito defends it nicely.

No joy there for Brito, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brito moves away from the strike by Wada.
We've been informed that Brito has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Brito connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iwao Wada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brito throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Murilo Brito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brito uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wada.

Wada throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brito tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wada is in Brito's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
