Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mary Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitchell Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson shoots in for a takedown but Dunlap shows good takedown defense.
Davidson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dunlap counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dunlap.
Davidson is trying to stall.

Dunlap successfully pulls guard.
Davidson stops Dunlap from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davidson controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dunlap working for a triangle but Davidson defends it easily.
Davidson prevents Dunlap from getting back to his feet.

Dunlap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dunlap is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Davidson is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A quick step to the side and Dunlap tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Davidson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dunlap sprawls well. Dunlap wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davidson gets slowly back to his feet.
Dunlap is looking to slow Davidson down with leg kicks.

Davidson forces Dunlap back against the cage and clinches.

Dunlap lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Davidson tries to pull guard but Dunlap holds him up against the cage and eventually Davidson drops back down to his feet.

and Dunlap counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mitchell Davidson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davidson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dunlap counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Davidson tries to sprawl but Dunlap drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Dunlap is trying to control the action in half guard but Davidson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dunlap stops Davidson from getting back to his feet.
Davidson is looking for a sweep. Dunlap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Davidson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dunlap is working away from the top position though.

and Dunlap counters with a left and a right that stings Davidson.

A solid leg kick lands there for Dunlap.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dunlap, right into the meat.
Dunlap thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Davidson if he has to take too many more of those.
Davidson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Davidson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dunlap dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davidson. That did some damage!
Dunlap throws a leg kick which misses Davidson's front leg but catches the back leg as Davidson tries to avoid it.
Dunlap tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davidson swivels and escapes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davidson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dunlap misses with a series of wild punches.
Dunlap turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dunlap is looking to slow Davidson down with leg kicks.
Davidson throws a hook but Dunlap avoids it easily.
And Dunlap counters with a quick kick to the body but Davidson blocks it.

Dunlap lands a takedown into guard.
Dunlap is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dunlap is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dunlap has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davidson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dunlap can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dunlap feints and then cracks Davidson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Davidson down.
Mitchell Davidson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mary Dunlap is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Davidson just misses with a punch to the body.

I would just about give that final round to Mitchell Davidson.
Well Dunlap has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
