PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Mcbride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rapid Deffence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deffence is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Aussie. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcbride moves into range and clinches up with Deffence.
Deffence tries to break free but Mcbride pushes him back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Deffence blocks the elbow strike.

Deffence jumps guard and drags Mcbride to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Deffence tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mcbride gets to his feet - Deffence follows without any prompting.

Deffence drives through with a takedown into Mcbride's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Mcbride creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Deffence sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Mcbride decides to stand back up. Mcbride steps back and let's Deffence get back to his feet.
Mcbride tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Deffence swivels and escapes.
Mcbride leaves Deffence with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mcbride throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Deffence was covering up waiting for the punch and Mcbride finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rapid Deffence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Deffence closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcbride holds on to Deffence's head and controls the position momentarily.

Deffence is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
