Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Coppen!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coppen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Scott looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Scott displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coppen.
Scott went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Coppen throws a shot to the body.

Coppen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Scott breaks from the clinch.

Coppen clinches up with Scott and pushes him back against the cage.

Coppen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Coppen tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Scott jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coppen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Scott throws a counter high kick but Coppen was just alert enough to avoid it.
Scott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Scott circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coppen closes the distance looking to clinch

and Scott counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scott tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Scott has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Coppen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Coppen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Scott has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Scott ducks right into an uppercut from Coppen.
Coppen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scott swivels and escapes.

Coppen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Coppen tries to clinch up but Scott circles away and keeps his distance.
Coppen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scott pinned against the cage. Scott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Scott was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Coppen is looking to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Coppen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sloppy strikes from Scott. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Michael Coppen will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Coppen shoots in looking for a takedown but Scott manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Coppen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Coppen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Coppen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Coppen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Coppen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scott manages to avoid it.
Scott slaps away a takedown attempt from Coppen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Scott takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Coppen lands a jab to Scott's midsection.
Coppen moves in looking to clinch but Scott pushes him off.

Coppen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Coppen is trying to push Scott away but Scott has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Coppen lands with a nice body punch.
Coppen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Coppen blocks a head kick by Scott.
Coppen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scott swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Coppen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Scott misses with a takedown attempt - Coppen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Scott is defended easily by Coppen.
Coppen lands a nice hook to Scott's body. Scott takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

No joy there for Scott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Coppen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Scott to the mat! Scott manages to get full guard.
Coppen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scott bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Coppen's guard.

Scott throws a big right hand that misses.
Scott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Scott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Scott working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Coppen's head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coppen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Scott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coppen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Coppen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Scott is controlling him.
Michael Coppen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Scott stands and steps away. Coppen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Scott feinted with a counter takedown.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coppen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Michael Coppen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Coppen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
