Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vidar Nord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takuji Kawashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawashima has chosen Colossal - Wolfmother as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vidar Nord!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takuji Kawashima!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nord keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kawashima misses with a low kick.
Nord goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nord scores with a jab to the body.
Nord lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kawashima misses the jab.
Kawashima fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kawashima misses with a wild body shot.
Kawashima shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nord defends it nicely.
Kawashima misses with a leg kick
and Nord counters with an outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nord throws a body punch but Kawashima moves out of range.
Takuji Kawashima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kawashima crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nord - the referee stops the clock and Kawashima gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nord. Kawashima manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Nice jab there from Kawashima.
Nord scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kawashima lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nord has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nord and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Nord throws a half hearted mid kick.

Kawashima avoids the head kick by Nord.
Vidar Nord is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kawashima takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kawashima looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Nord looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Nord pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kawashima changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Nord throws a jab but it's blocked by Kawashima.
Kawashima throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Nord throws a sloppy head kick and Kawashima moves out of range easily.
Kawashima has his takedown stuffed
and Nord counters with a left to the body.
Vidar Nord has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takuji Kawashima.

Nord throws a sloppy head kick and Kawashima moves out of range easily.
Kawashima walks forward, straight into a front kick from Nord.
Nord is looking to wear down Kawashima with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Nord lands a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kawashima throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nord leaves Kawashima with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kawashima misses with a low kick.
Kawashima is looking to chop away at Nord's legs.

Kawashima shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kawashima showed some decent athleticism there.
Nord wants to get back to full guard.
Nord controlling the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nord has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kawashima is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kawashima seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nord does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kawashima might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nord haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Kawashima is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nord has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nord moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kawashima throws an elbow that misses. Nord uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kawashima's guard. Nice move by Nord!

Kawashima has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Nord has passed into side control.

The referee asks Nord politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nord prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kawashima is trying to get back to half guard.
Kawashima is not content to let Nord control the position.
Kawashima is looking to reverse the position.
Nord working away.
Nord lands some shots froms side control.
Nord controls the position from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kawashima tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vidar Nord dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Nord gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nice body punch from Nord.
Nord throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Kawashima tries to land a knee to the head but Nord blocks with his arms.
Nord is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kawashima can do to turn this around?
Kawashima has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nord is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Nord here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Still in the clinch, Nord scores with a nice short uppercut.
Nord lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kawashima backwards.
Kawashima tries to pull guard but Nord holds him up against the cage and eventually Kawashima drops back down to his feet.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nord.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nord works on Kawashima's body with a couple of short punches.
Kawashima has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nord avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Vidar Nord has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takuji Kawashima.
Nord prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kawashima is breathing heavily.
Nord scores with a shot to the side of Kawashima's head.

Nord pushes Kawashima back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Nord lands a hook that snaps the head of Kawashima backwards.
I was talking to Nord's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nord stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Nord lands with a light punch inside.
Nord lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Nord lands a shoulder strike.
Vidar Nord has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Kawashima wants to take the fight to the mat but Nord manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kawashima tries to pull guard but Nord forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Nord lands a body punch.
Nord working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Nord creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Kawashima's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Kawashima drops to his knees and Nord pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vidar Nord!
Vidar Nord very nearly forgot to thank Reaper Combatwear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
