Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Leek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge The Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge The Axe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Leek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jorge The Axe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leek avoids a kick to the body.
Leek throws a right and a left that The Axe avoids nicely.
Leek stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Leek wants it to stay on the feet.
Leek is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from The Axe.

Leek shoots in and gets a takedown into The Axe's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Axe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Leek not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Leek thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The Axe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leek passes The Axe's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The Axe tries to get to full guard but Leek has control of the leg.

Leek seems to be looking for submissions.
Well, if Leek is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The Axe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The Axe is looking to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Leek trying to control from half guard but The Axe is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The Axe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leek tries to avoid it but The Axe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leek to the ground. Leek escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The Axe shoots for a double leg takedown but Leek sprawls well. He's pushed The Axe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
David Leek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge The Axe.

The Axe lands a left and a right that send Leek crashing to the mat, dazed. The Axe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Leek shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The Axe throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The Axe is looking to control Leek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can The Axe avoid being mounted?

Leek is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The Axe is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Leek wants to stand up but The Axe has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Leek misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Leek fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The Axe tries to clinch there but Leek circles away.

The Axe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Leek pulls The Axe into guard.
The Axe trying to control the position from guard on top but Leek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Axe wants to clinch.
David Leek is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The Axe closes the distance and clinches up with Leek, looking for a takedown. The Axe pushes Leek against the cage but Leek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The Axe slips a straight right by Leek.
Nice uppercut there from The Axe.
Sloppy strikes from Leek. Those never looked like landing.

Leek shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Axe napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Leek is looking to take a break and control but The Axe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Leek is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Axe can do to turn this around?

The Axe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Leek's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The Axe has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Leek is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Leek manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Axe manages to get himself to full guard.

Leek wants to stand but The Axe is controlling his posture from full guard.

The Axe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Leek is controlling him.

Leek stops The Axe from standing up.

The Axe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leek throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Axe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Leek prevents The Axe from getting back to his feet.
Leek postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Leek misses the jab.
The Axe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Leek appears to be looking for a big counter.
Leek shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. The Axe defends it nicely.

Leek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The Axe, pushing him back against the cage.

Leek pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The Axe circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nice takedown defense from Leek. No joy for The Axe on that attempt.

Leek moves into the clinch successfully.

Leek breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A left lands for The Axe.
Leek is on the wrong end of a nice combination from The Axe.
The Axe throws a leg kick but Leek moved away.
The Axe shoots in looking for a takedown. Leek tries to sprawl out of it but The Axe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leek manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Leek has closed the distance and engaged The Axe in a clinch.
The Axe can't break the clinch.
The Axe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
David Leek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge The Axe.
The Axe wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Leek slowing the pace effectively.

The Axe wants the takedown. Leek is fighting it off but The Axe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Leek's guard against the cage.

I think Leek has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
