Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David James!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. James is now in Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
My spies in Soul Supremacy - UK inform me that James has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sanchez enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sanchez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
James throws a strike but Sanchez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is desperately trying to improve his position but Sanchez has a good base and remains in mount.

You can see the frustration on James's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Sanchez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Sanchez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

David James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dj Sanchez.
