Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Vegata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the ring accompanied by Nervecell - Psychogenocide. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbin Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Vegata!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegata scores with a kick to the midsection.

Gracie looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gracie with a nice head shot there.
We've been hearing that Gracie has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Vegata tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Vegata keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vegata is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Vegata is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Vegata is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Vegata.

Gracie moves into range and clinches up with Vegata.
Gracie lands a hook to the side of the head.
A short uppercut from Vegata.
Gracie managing to block the knees to the body from Vegata.
Gracie tries to circle away but Vegata has him pinned against the ropes.
Vegata throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gracie misses with a body punch.
Vegata tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Gracie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vegata's waist but Vegata gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
Antonio Vegata is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gracie gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vegata walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Vegata throws a solid leg kick but Gracie takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vegata.
Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Vegata avoids it well and moves away.
No joy there for Gracie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gracie fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbin Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vegata swats away the attempt to clinch by Gracie.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gracie darts in trying to clinch
and Vegata counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vegata digs a good hook to Gracie's body.
Gracie misses with a body shot
and Vegata counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Vegata circles away easily
and Vegata counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gracie thinking.

Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vegata.
Vegata fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Vegata lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Vegata misses with the combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie misses the shot to the body.
Robbin Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie lands a jab to Vegata's midsection.
Vegata swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vegata's head.
Gracie throwing shots but Vegata is blocking nicely.

Vegata has his hands clasped together around Gracie's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

And Vegata responds with a good body kick, but Gracie manages to step out the way in time.

Gracie throws a sloppy head kick
and Vegata counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Vegata struggles to land a body shot inside as Gracie controls his hands.
Vegata is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

and Vegata counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gracie's knee momentarily.

Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Vegata circles away.
Gracie's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vegata under the eye.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Vegata sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Vegata only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vegata sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vegata lands a nice hook to Gracie's body. Gracie takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Vegata connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Vegata lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Gracie is looking to clinch but Vegata is avoiding it.
Vegata stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Gracie rushes Vegata and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Gracie dodges an elbow strike from Vegata.
Vegata trying to control the position but instead, Gracie has worked for underhooks and has pushed Vegata into the ropes.
Vegata throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gracies head.
Vegata misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gracie.
Gracie blocking some punches.
Vegata throws an elbow but it misses.
Antonio Vegata seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vegata just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Vegata wants to stall.
Vegata has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vegata tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gracie avoids it.

Gracie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Vegata holds him up against the ropes and eventually Gracie drops back down to his feet.

Gracie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gracie is looking to clinch but Vegata is avoiding it.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vegata pinned against the ropes. Vegata gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vegata throws a low kick, looking for Gracie's leg but Gracie calmly moves out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Vegata.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vegata stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vegata wants it to stay on the feet.
Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.

Antonio Vegata showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Gracie is looking to wear down Vegata with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Vegata moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vegata misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Vegata avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.
Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gracie has given up his back here.

Vegata just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Gracie wants to control his opponent's hands but Vegata gets his hands free.
Gracie tries to break free.
Vegata controlling the position well here. Gracie rolled but Vegata kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robbin Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Antonio Vegata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Vegata winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
