Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lynwood Fischer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Sherman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lynwood Fischer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hank Sherman!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fischer dodges the punch combination from Sherman.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sherman checks a leg kick.

Sherman shoots in and bounces Fischer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Sherman wants to control from the top but Fischer keeps moving.
Fischer wants to sweep here but Sherman controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sherman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sherman wanted to stand there but Fischer had control of the position.

Sherman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fischer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fischer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fischer!

Sherman throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Sherman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Sherman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sherman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Fischer really is a fat lump.

Sherman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sherman wants to sweep but Fischer has passed to side control!
Sherman wants to get back to his feet but Fischer drags him back down.
Fischer in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Sherman pushes Fischer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fischer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sherman tries to buck Fischer off but Fischer is having none of it.

Sherman is looking to regain half guard here but Fischer keeps moving and retains side control.
Sherman is trying to control Fischer's posture but Fischer avoids it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sherman. Fischer does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sherman gets a takedown into half guard.
Fischer tries to roll over but Sherman keeps him under control.

Sherman throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Fischer to regain full guard.
Sherman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fischer is keeping the position for now.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sherman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fischer keeps working.

Fischer fails with a takedown attempt.

Sherman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sherman lands in his opponent's guard.
Fischer keeping moving, preventing Sherman from controlling successfully.

Sherman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Sherman feints and as Fischer raises his hands in defense, Sherman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fischer wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sherman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Sherman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fischer sprawls well initially but Sherman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hank Sherman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sherman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sherman is looking to take a break and control but Fischer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sherman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fischer!
Sherman throws some wild stikes that Fischer manages to avoid easily.

Sherman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fischer is on top in guard.
Fischer postures up in Sherman's guard and throws a big left but Sherman blocks it.

Fischer lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Sherman is trying to keep Fischer in close.

Sherman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fischer defends it easily.
Fischer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fischer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Fischer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hank Sherman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Sherman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fischer to the mat! Fischer manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fischer is on top in guard.

Sherman has his hands on Fischer's head, controlling the position.

Sherman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fischer passes into side control.

Fischer sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sherman is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Sherman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sherman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fischer.
Fischer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sherman will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Sherman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Fischer wants to control but Sherman is keeping him busy.
Sherman tries to roll over but Fischer keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sherman is pressing down on Fischer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fischer stands up over Sherman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sherman wants to sweep but no luck.
Fischer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fischer connects with a couple of short punches.
Fischer with a nice head shot there.
Fischer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fischer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fischer keeps the fight on the outside.

Sherman scores with a one two! Fischer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Sherman shoots in and gets a takedown into Fischer's guard.
Sherman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fischer is trying to keep Sherman in close.

Sherman stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Sherman darts in and clinches Fischer up against the cage.
Come on Fischer - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Fischer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sherman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fischer to the mat. Fischer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Sherman trying to control but Fischer is working from the bottom.
Sherman preventing the sweep.
Sherman advances to half guard.
Fischer tries to kick Sherman off but Sherman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Fischer is refusing to be controlled, as Sherman sits in half guard.
Fischer is looking for a sweep. Sherman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lynwood Fischer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hank Sherman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fischer is pressing down on Sherman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Well Sherman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
