Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oke Yagin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominick Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oke Yagin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oke Yagin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yagin with a nice cross.
Cruz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Yagin stuns Cruz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Yagin catches Cruz napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Cruz to the canvas!


Cruz is rocked!


It looks like Dominick Cruz has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yagin sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Cruz is still in real trouble! Can Yagin finish him?
Yagin prevents Cruz from getting back to his feet.
Yagin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cruz seems to have recovered his senses.
Yagin trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom.
Cruz is trying to control the position but Yagin postures up.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Cruz controls Yagin momentarily but Yagin frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cruz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yagin lands a body shot.
Yagin throws a series of strikes that have Cruz backpedaling.
Yagin scores with a body shot.

Yagin drives through with a takedown into Cruz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Yagin trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom.
Yagin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cruz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Yagin cracks Cruz with a solid left hand.
Cruz keeping moving, preventing Yagin from controlling successfully.
Yagin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cruz's head.
Yagin has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Yagin pushes down on Cruz's leg and manages to get into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yagin trying to control from half guard but Cruz is working away.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yagin connects with a nice short shot to Cruz's temple.
Cruz trying to hold on to Yagin's head to control him but Yagin postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cruz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Yagin jumps into side control!
Yagin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cruz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Yagin lands some shots froms side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cruz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cruz is not content to let Yagin control the position.
Yagin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Yagin is chipping away with strikes.
Yagin lands a nice forearm strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cruz is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Cruz taking punishment in the form of punches.
Cruz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yagin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yagin lands a strong strike to the head of Cruz. That's dazed him! Yagin looking to finish here. Cruz is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Yagin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oke Yagin!
