PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asa Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Hulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hulk has chosen Brocks Eminem Entrance as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Asa Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Hulk!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ron Honeybunn and Chris Dean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snow moves into the clinch successfully.

Hulk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hulk gets the takedown into side control.
Snow regains half guard, as Hulk was trying to land strikes.
Hulk prevents Snow from improving his position.
Hulk working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Snow's thigh. Snow counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Hulk connects with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hulk trying to control but Snow is working from the bottom.
Hulk might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Snow haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Hulk throws a big right hand that misses.
Hulk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snow throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snow tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hulk trying to control but Snow is working from the bottom.
Hulk engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hulk keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Snow's head.
Hulk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snow wants to sweep but no luck.
Snow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Snow trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Snow stuffs the takedown attempt from Hulk. Hulk gets slowly back to his feet.

Hulk closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hulk scores with a hook to the body.
Snow keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hulk's efforts to push away.

Hulk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hulk.
Hulk shoots and misses
and Snow connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Asa Snow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Hulk.
Hulk looks winded!

Snow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Snow gets tackled into the cage by Hulk. Hulk maintains the clinch.
Snow managing to block the knees to the body from Hulk.
Snow prevents the takedown attempt.

Snow gets control of Hulk's arms and successfully pulls guard. Snow will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Snow has his foot on Hulk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hulk works his way back into a safe position though.

Snow gets back to full guard.
Snow manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hulk manages to get himself to full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Snow's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Snow wants to control from the top but Hulk keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Snow content to stall in guard here.
Snow trying to control the position from guard on top but Hulk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brock Hulk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hulk dives in for a single leg takedown but Snow sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Snow takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Snow feints and then cracks Hulk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hulk down.
Hulk misses with a takedown
and Snow counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hulk tries to clinch but Snow moves away
and Snow counters with a stiff right hand.
Snow tries a head kick but it misses.
Hulk on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Snow clinches with his opponent.
Hulk misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Snow.
Snow blocks the elbow strike.
Hulk wants to take the fight to the mat but Snow manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Asa Snow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Hulk.
Hulk is breathing heavily.

Snow jumps guard.
Hulk preventing the sweep.

Snow working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hulk has passed into half guard!
Snow flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Snow missing with punches from the bottom.
Hulk blocks the strikes from Snow.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hulk in particular looking to stall.
Hulk stalling away here and it's allowed Snow to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Snow manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hulk manages to get himself to full guard.

Snow thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Snow takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Snow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Snow drops back looking for a leg! Hulk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hulk manages to kick Snow off! Snow jumps back into Hulk's guard.
Hulk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Snow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hulk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Snow is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hulk staying out of range there.
Hulk wants to clinch
and Snow counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Snow darts in and clinches Hulk up against the cage.
Snow goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hulk prevents it.
Hulk is trying to break the clinch but Snow is controlling him.

Good body shot from Snow.
Hulk creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Snow fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hulk can't break the clinch.
Snow tries to pull guard but Hulk forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hulk is trying to break the clinch but Snow has him pressed against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Snow as Hulk tries to tie him up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Snow tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hulk just stands there and leans against the cage.

Snow breaks the clinch.

Hulk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snow is fending him off so far but Hulk persists. Nope, Snow circles away and we're back to standing.

Snow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hulk throws a good cross that connects.
Hulk tries to clinch but Snow moves out of range.

Snow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hulk is looking to clinch but Snow is avoiding it.

Hulk drives through with a takedown into guard.
Snow looking for a sweep. Not yet Snow, not yet.

Hulk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hulk has managed to get both his arms back between Snow's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Snow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hulk's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hulk manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Snow prevents a takedown attempt there.
Snow landing knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snow is trying to pull guard but Hulk turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hulk avoiding damage as Snow throws knees to the body.

Snow clinches.

Hulk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Snow regains guard.

Hulk passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hulk advances nicely into full mount.
Snow bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Hulk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

I would just about give that final round to Brock Hulk.
I think Hulk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Brock Hulk misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
