PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov comes to the ring accompanied by The Trooper by Iron Maiden. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vincent Volkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov shoots for a double leg takedown but Dixon sprawls well. He's pushed Volkov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Volkov avoids the head kick by Dixon.
Dixon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Volkov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dixon, pushing him back against the ropes.

Volkov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dixon regains guard immediately.
Volkov wants to control from the top but Dixon keeps moving.

Volkov has gone for a leg lock! Dixon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Volkov's guard.

Volkov has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dixon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Dixon has had enough of the clinch but Volkov keeps him there for the moment.

Volkov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Phil Dixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Volkov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
