Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leo Katona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Wad!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wad stuns Katona with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nice shot lands for Wad.
Katona walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Katona misses with a low kick.
Wad throws a jab when Katona was well out of range.
Katona was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Katona on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Wad stuns Katona with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wad lands a nice shot to the body.
Wad fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Katona is out of range.
Katona doesn't manage to clinch there - Wad circles away.
Katona misses with a combination
enabling Wad to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Katona takes one on the button.
Wad moves out of range of the strikes.
Wad blocks a head kick by Katona.
Wad uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Katona has time to react.
Leo Katona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Katona keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wad misses the jab.
Katona seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Wad dodges the punch combination from Katona.
Wad unleashes a big counter combination but Katona bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Katona tries a head kick but it misses.
Wad works the jab nicely.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wad.
Katona throws a leg kick that is checked
and Wad counters with a nice leg kick.
Wad scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Katona is rocked!
Wad cracks Katona on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Katona falls backwards against the cage. Wad follows up with more strikes that drop Katona to his knees. Wad keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Katona! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dick Wad!
