TWGC 5 (145lbs, D2): St Petersburg Qualifier - Round 2 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Masa Wasa and Victor Frolov. Wasa comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome To The Jungle. Frolov has chosen Manowar - Holy War as his entrance music. Victor Frolov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Masa Wasa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Victor Frolov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Wasa doesn't manage to clinch there - Frolov circles away.
Wasa dives in for a single leg takedown but Frolov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wasa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Frolov pinned against the cage. Frolov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wasa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Frolov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wasa to the mat. Wasa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
