Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Zackary Finyard and Titan Rain. Finyard's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Everlast - What Its Like. Rain has chosen Die for Metal as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Zackary Finyard! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Titan Rain!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Rain clinches up against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Finyard has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Finyard is trying to trip Rain. He has hold of a leg but Rain is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Finyard persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Rain wants to sweep here but Finyard controlling him for the moment.

Rain felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Finyard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Finyard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Finyard is looking to stall here but Rain recovers full guard.

Finyard is taking a breather. Rain says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Finyard is pressing down on Rain's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rain is holding on for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rain isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Finyard stacks Rain on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Finyard!

Finyard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Rain is not content to let Finyard control the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Finyard tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rain's legs.

Finyard thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rain manages to get back to half guard.
Rain manages to get to full guard.
Rain working a defensive guard but Finyard manages to pass into side control anyway.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Rain is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Finyard is defending well though. Rain let's go of the attempt for now.

Rain has got his arm under Finyard's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Finyard has spun round into Rain's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Finyard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rain has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Finyard has passed into side control.

Finyard tries to move to mount but Rain blocks the move with his legs.
You can see the frustration on Rain's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Finyard is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rain's shoulder. That is not cool.
