And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp fails to land the takedown.
Clemons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Clemons tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch but Clemons swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sapp has a takedown stuffed.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sapp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapp shoots in for a takedown but Clemons shows good takedown defense.

Sapp scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Clemons manages to mount him!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sapp can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sapp is just holding on here. Clemons manages to take his back.
Sapp rolls, trying to escape but Clemons keeps control of the position.

Sapp tries to escape but Clemons has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Clemons is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sapp is trying to shake Clemons off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Clemons won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Sapp tries to clinch up but Clemons circles away and keeps his distance.
Sapp shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clemons pinned against the cage. Clemons gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nice takedown defense from Clemons. No joy for Sapp on that attempt.

Clemons leaves Sapp with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Clemons appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sapp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clemons tries to avoid it but Sapp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clemons to the ground. Clemons escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Clemons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sapp throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clemons's waist but Clemons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sapp off to one side.
Horrible takedown attempt by Clemons or perhaps it was just good defense by Sapp, which made it look bad.

Clemons has his foot on Sapp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sapp works his way back into a safe position though.

Clemons looking for a guillotine here but Sapp defends easily.
Clemons will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sapp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Clemons holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sapp.
Clemons takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Clemons feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Clemons is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sapp can do to turn this around?

Clemons got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sapp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clemons has managed to get both his arms back between Sapp's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sapp fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Clemons looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Clemons wants to clinch up but Sapp keeps it at a distance.
Clemons displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sapp.

Bob Sapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sapp misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sapp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sapp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clemons as he jumps to the side.
Clemons lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Clemons gets in close and instigates a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sapp just misses with a elbow thrown towards Clemons's brow.
Sapp is working for takedown but Clemons is calmly controlling the position for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brett Clemons showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Clemons has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
