Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Johns!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Watson and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns pivots, looking for a leg kick but Blankenship is out of range and Johns settles back down.

Blankenship closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johns sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Johns gets full guard.
Blankenship throws a big elbow that misses.
Blankenship being controlled here momentarily.
Blankenship could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Johns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blankenship is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johns pulls Blankenship in to control the position.

Johns is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Johns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blankenship defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blankenship lands a couple of elbows.

Johns has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Blankenship doesn't defend quickly enough and Johns has managed to lock this one up! Can Blankenship escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Johns on a fantastic submission victory.
