The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Remo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taisumov defends it nicely.
A punch combination from Taisumov misses.
Good leg kick by Remo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Remo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Taisumov sprawls well. Taisumov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Remo gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Remo misses with a few strikes there.
Taisumov is looking for a counter combo.

It looked like Taisumov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Maxim Taisumov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chiun Remo.

Taisumov lands a left and a right that send Remo crashing to the mat, dazed. Taisumov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Remo fails with a takedown attempt.
Taisumov throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Remo stumbling backwards into the cage! Remo bounces back off the cage towards Taisumov, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Taisumov lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Taisumov celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
