Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Temitope Obama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: MGK - Wild Boy ft. Waka Flocka Flame. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Temitope Obama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Smith!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Obama moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Obama really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Obama fails to land with a series of punches.
Obama scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one.
Smith tries to clinch there but Obama circles away.
Obama looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Obama throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Obama swivels and escapes.
Obama seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Obama moves out of range easily.
Obama throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.
Obama doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Obama counters with a left to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Obama looks to land a body kick but Smith moved away.
Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Obama.

Obama fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Obama lands a knee to the head.
Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Obama lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Smith will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Obama up against the cage.

Obama lands a left hand.
Obama fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Smith.
Smith blocks an uppercut.

Our sources have told us that Obama has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Obama tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Obama tries to land knees in the clinch but Smith avoids the damage to the body.

Obama's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Obama misses with some punches.

Smith has Obama pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Smith pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Obama tumbling to the mat - Smith dives into Obama's guard.

Smith distracts Obama with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Obama has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Smith has passed into side control.

Obama is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obama tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Obama regains full guard. Nicely done.

Smith lands a couple of elbows.
Smith lands a couple of digs.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Obama has wrist control.
Smith stopping the sweep attempt from Obama.
Obama controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
Obama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Obama has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Obama's legs - danger averted.
Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Temitope Obama dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Obama wants to clinch.
A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Obama misses with a jab, cross combination.
Obama misses the shot to the body.

Smith feints and as Obama raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Obama throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Smith is fighting to break Obama's control of his arms but Obama is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Obama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Obama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Obama tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A head kick from Obama lands but Smith takes it in his stride.
Obama thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Obama tried to score with a low kick but Smith checks it.
Smith lands with a good body shot.

Obama tries to land a front kick but Smith steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Obama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Obama is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!

Obama wants to stand and escape but instead Smith has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Smith stands up over Obama, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Obama wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.

Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Obama looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Obama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I would just about give that final round to Jimmy Smith.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
