Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Pirate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pirate is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 5 Pirate Myths That Actually Are True. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, The Pirate!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pirate tries a head kick but it misses.
Harris tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pirate defends well and Harris ends up having to push Pirate into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pirate cracks the inside of Harris's front leg.
Harris fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pirate gets caught napping as Harris dives in and scores a takedown. Pirate manages to retain guard.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Pirate gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Harris controls Pirate momentarily but Pirate frees himself.
Harris has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Harris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pirate gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris has his foot on Pirate's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pirate works his way back into a safe position though.

Pirate slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Harris can't keep his opponent in guard - Pirate advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Harris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pirate pulls his head out easily.
Pirate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Harris wants to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Pirate seems content to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The Pirate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pirate manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pirate looks to land a combination. Harris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pirate counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Pirate thumps Harris with a low kick.
Junior Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pirate is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Harris with a body shot.
Pirate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harris.

Pirate moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Pirate plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Harris tries to clinch up but Pirate circles away and keeps his distance.
Pirate flicks out a counter leg kick but Harris steps away.
Harris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pirate tries to avoid it but Harris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pirate to the ground. Pirate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Harris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harris stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pirate.
Pirate digs a good hook to Harris's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pirate lands with a thumping leg kick.
Pirate swats away the attempt to clinch by Harris.

Harris shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Harris was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Despite the aggression on Pirate's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Harris takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harris.
Pirate has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pirate fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pirate scores with a sloppy right hand. Harris should have avoided that one.
Horrible takedown attempt by Harris or perhaps it was just good defense by Pirate, which made it look bad.
Harris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pirate is fending him off so far but Harris persists. Nope, Pirate circles away and we're back to standing.
Pirate stuffs the takedown attempt from Harris. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pirate.
Pirate feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Harris's calf.
Pirate lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pirate flicks out a counter leg kick but Harris steps away.

Harris throws a chopping leg kick but Pirate manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Pirate buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Harris doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Pirate is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Harris rather than just go for the knockout.

Harris moves into range and clinches up with Pirate.
Harris jumps guard but Pirate stands there with Harris around his waist. Harris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Harris tries to work over Pirate's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Pirate.
Pirate lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Harris is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Pirate misses with a short punch on the inside.

Pirate content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Harris tries to pull guard but Pirate won't allow it.
Pirate slows down the pace here.
Harris tries to break free but Pirate pushes him back against the cage.
Harris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pirate gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Pirate.
Harris tries to pull guard but Pirate holds him up against the cage and eventually Harris drops back down to his feet.
Come on Pirate - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

The Pirate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Harris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pirate only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Pirate connects with a solid leg kick.
The Pirate seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Pirate stuns Harris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pirate jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Pirate counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pirate ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Pirate misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pirate cracks Harris with an open hand slap.
Harris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pirate sprawls well. Pirate wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Harris blocks a head kick by Pirate.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pirate has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pirate wants to stand up but Harris is controlling him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Harris shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pirate keeps working.
Pirate gets full guard.
Harris wants to control from the top but Pirate keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pirate keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
