Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aidan Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mikel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Mikel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madison is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mikel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Madison shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mikel is trying to defend but Madison finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Madison seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Mikel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Madison pulls his head out easily.
Mikel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mikel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mikel is looking for a sweep. Madison is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mikel moves forwards but Madison connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Madison digs a good body shot into Mikel's ribs.

Mikel shoots in and gets a takedown into Madison's guard.

Mikel is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Madison wants to get back to full guard.
Mikel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Madison is controlling Mikel's trapped leg to prevent Mikel from advancing to side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Madison is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Mikel is tapping! Great win for Madison!
