Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kauri Mahuika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Kristian Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nielsen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rasmus Walter - Endeløst. Kauri Mahuika has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sven Kristian Nielsen!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahuika misses with a looping left.
Nice defenses there by Nielsen.
Mahuika fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mahuika misses with a hook.
Kauri Mahuika seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nielsen drives through with a takedown into Mahuika's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Nielsen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Nielsen postures up and lands a big shot to Mahuika's brow.

Nielsen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mahuika escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nielsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nielsen working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nielsen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Nielsen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Nielsen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mahuika has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nielsen has managed to get both his arms back between Mahuika's legs - danger averted.
Nielsen is in close to Mahuika's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mahuika knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nielsen on the ground.
Mahuika is looking for a triangle but Nielsen pushes his legs off easily.
Nielsen stands up over Mahuika, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Nielsen throwing strikes but missing.
Nielsen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nielsen drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Nielsen seems to have locked his on tight now - Mahuika screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Nielsen, as he picks up the win!
