Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Alvarez Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Elwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Banner might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Raining Blood by Slayer. Elwood has chosen Ice Cube - Why We Thugs as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Elwood paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Banner counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Elwood has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Banner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Elwood.

Elwood rushes Banner with punches - Banner moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Banner goes down! Elwood follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
