Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares lands a slapping body shot.
Soares lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jones at a distance.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Soares scores with a nice right hand.
Soares lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Jones counters with an inside leg kick.
Soares changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Soares pinned against the cage. Soares gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jones there as he acknowledges the shot.
Soares swings and misses with a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Soares slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
