Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paiva has managed to clinch.
Paiva leaning his opponent against the cage.
Shaffer manages to break the clinch.
Shaffer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Some wild striking there from Paiva.
Paiva misses with an uppercut
and Shaffer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaffer throws a combination. Paiva tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Paiva drops Shaffer with a beautiful combination! Shaffer stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Paiva is looking for the KO!
It looks like Ron Shaffer has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paiva misses with a lunging right hand
and Shaffer counters with a one-two to the body.

Paiva throws a body shot but no joy.
As Paiva looks to move away, Shaffer throws a big counter combo bu Paiva just gets out of the way.
Paiva looks to score with a jab to the body but Shaffer is just out of range.
GuiGun Paiva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Paiva throws a body punch but Shaffer moves out of range.
Paiva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
GuiGun Paiva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaffer throws a wild hook but Paiva just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Shaffer gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Paiva raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). GuiGun Paiva!
