Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronny James Dio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jacobson misses with a straight left.
Dio paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jacobson wants to clinch
and Dio counters with a straight right hand.
Dio throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dio throws out a loose jab but Jacobson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jacobson connects with a nice looking jab.
Jacobson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Dio misses with a looping left.
Jacobson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jacobson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dio circles away quickly and effectively.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looked like Dio wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

It looked like Dio was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jacobson.
Dio scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Dio scores with a hook to the body. Jacobson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Dio lands with a hook. Jacobson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dio looks to score with a jab to the body but Jacobson is just out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dio, as that shot connected.
Dio ducks under a wild hook from Jacobson.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Dio throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jacobson.
Ronny James Dio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dio. Jacobson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dio bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jacobson's head backwards.
Jacobson is rocked!
Dio walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Jacobson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Dio swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Jacobson's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronny James Dio!
Ronny James Dio spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
