PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Archie Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Franck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Archie Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Franck!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franck has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Franck there as he acknowledges the shot.
Archer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Franck in his tracks.

Archer has closed the distance and engaged Franck in a clinch.
Archer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Franck backwards.


It looks like Joseph Franck has been cut.
I was talking to Archer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Franck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Archer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Franck stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Archer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Franck can do to turn this around?
