Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burgess is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by travis barker push em. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Burgess!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman dodges the punch combination from Burgess.
Burgess tries to close the distance and clinch up but Freeman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Freeman lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Freeman.
Burgess uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Freeman.
As Freeman backs off Burgess throws a huge counter combo but Freeman manages to avoid it all.
Burgess throws an overhand right that lands on Freeman's shoulder, as Freeman tries to avoid the shot.
Freeman takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Burgess fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Freeman on the side of the head.
Burgess throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Burgess lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Freeman circles away quickly and effectively.
Burgess stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Burgess wants it to stay on the feet.
Burgess moves into range and connects with a jab.
A punch combination from Burgess misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Freeman scores with the left hand. Burgess knows he should have avoided that one.

Freeman's corner calls for a 1-2. Freeman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Burgess is looking to chop away at Freeman's legs.

The fighters circling - Freeman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Freeman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Burgess in his tracks.

Burgess goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Burgess moves out of range as Freeman strikes.
Burgess is looking for the big counter here.
Freeman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burgess.
Burgess is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Freeman misses with a hook.
Freeman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Burgess takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Freeman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burgess tries to close the distance and clinch but Freeman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Freeman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Burgess to the ground. Freeman is now in Burgess's guard.
Freeman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Burgess works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Freeman wants to control from the top but Burgess keeps moving.
Freeman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Burgess wants to stand up but Freeman is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burgess has Freeman pulled in close to control his posture.
Freeman prevents Burgess from getting back to his feet.
Freeman postures up in Burgess's guard and throws a big left but Burgess blocks it.

Freeman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Burgess is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Freeman cracks Burgess with a solid left hand.
Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Freeman postures up.

Burgess looking to hit a scissor sweep but Freeman is one step ahead there.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Freeman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Burgess walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Freeman throws a good cross that connects.
Freeman looks to score with a jab to the body but Burgess is just out of range.
Burgess throws a half hearted mid kick.
Burgess loads up on a big right hand but Freeman slips the punch.
Freeman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Burgess bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Freeman's head backwards.
Burgess tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Freeman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Freeman misses with an attempted mid kick.
Burgess throws a counter combo.
Some wild striking there from Burgess.
Freeman misses with the body kick
enabling Burgess to counter with a crisp jab.
Burgess moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burgess throws a right and a left that both miss.
Freeman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Freeman will probably get the nod.

Burgess has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freeman in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Burgess tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Freeman!

Matt Freeman gave a mention to Milwaukee's Best 160 (85% laundry) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
