The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parke throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gatsby counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Parke misses with a body shot.
Gatsby throws a big shot that misses.
Gatsby misses with an uppercut. Parke saw that one coming.
Parke connects with a jab.
Gatsby scores with a hook.


It looks like Norman Parke has been cut.
Gatsby loads up on a big right hand but Parke slips the punch.

Gatsby looks to throw the jab but Parke is out of range.
Gatsby throws a lazy right hand but Parke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Parke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gatsby.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Parke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've been informed that Parke has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Parke looks to score with a jab to the body but Gatsby is just out of range.
Parke cracks Gatsby with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Gatsby throws a right hand that Parke ducks under and follows up with a left that Parke also avoids with ease.

Parke scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gatsby doesn't seem bothered though.
Gatsby throws a right and a left that Parke avoids nicely.
Parke throws a looping overhand right but Gatsby ducks down to avoid it.
Gatsby swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gatsby looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gatsby throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Parke counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parke throwing shots but Gatsby is blocking nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parke connects with a nice short shot to Gatsby's temple.

In defeat, Jay Gatsby stepped up to the mic, saying 'Damn, I had him. I don't think I'd have lost if... In fact, I'm sure I won this fight, hope you give me a rematch, old sport. Can't repeat the past? Why, of course you can... of course you can. '.
