Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Twister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Fynn!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Twister shoots in and drives through. Fynn sprawls well.
Fynn throws a head kick that misses.
Fynn with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Twister tries to keep at a distance but Fynn has taken the fight into the clinch.
Twister can't get the takedown.

Fynn breaks from the clinch.
Twister misses with a hook.
Fynn tries to bum rush Twister with a series of wild strikes but Twister uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fynn wants to clinch up but Twister keeps it at a distance.
Twister seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

It looks like Tony Twister has been cut.

Fynn catches Twister napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Twister to the canvas!


Twister is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fynn wanted to stand there but Twister had control of the position.
Oh Twister is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Twister has control of Fynn's left arm, preventing Fynn from doing any damage.

Twister isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fynn stacks Twister on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fynn!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fynn wants to get up but he can't break Twister's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fynn missing with a left hand there. Twister was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

It looked like Twister was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Fynn.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fynn enables Twister to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fynn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Twister is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Fynn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Fynn shrugs it off.
Twister can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fynn is looking to escape.

Fynn moves into range and clinches up with Twister.
Fynn prevents the takedown attempt.
Fynn throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Fynn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Twister misses with a hook.

and Twister counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bob Fynn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A head punch on the inside from Twister fails to land.
Twister is trying to drag Fynn to the mat but Fynn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fynn lands with a left to the head.
Fynn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Twister drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fynn's coach down at LOD-Guts & Glory Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fynn's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fynn lands a knee to the body.
Fynn is pressed up against the cage. Twister has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fynn down to the mat. Fynn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fynn rushes Twister and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Twister turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Twister manages to end up in side control.
Fynn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Twister is controlling him well.

Twister is trying to get an arm triangle but Fynn is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Twister thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Twister is looking to take a break and control but Fynn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Twister is looking for a kimura but Fynn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Twister to get the leverage.

Twister has control of Fynn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fynn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Fynn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Twister shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fynn but Fynn pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fynn lands a head kick. Twister smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Twister throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fynn escapes and throws Twister's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Fynn tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bob Fynn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Twister is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Twister wants to take the fight to the mat but Fynn manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bob Fynn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
