PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Titus Arellius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze has chosen Tupac ft Lil Mo - Niggaz Nature as his entrance music. Arellius has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arellius fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
An inside leg kick from Blaze misses.
Arellius connects with a leg kick. Blaze looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Blaze tests Arellius's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Arellius looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Blaze swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Arellius half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Blaze explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That kick from Blaze tenderised Arellius's leg. Arellius is trying to keep his angry face on.

Blaze swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Arellius.
Arellius motions for Blaze to come forward. Arellius throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Blaze misses with an uppercut. Arellius saw that one coming.
Arellius checks a low kick from Blaze.
Blaze fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Blaze throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Blaze lands a nice looking body kick.
Arellius is breathing heavily.

Arellius takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Arellius misses with a low kick.
Blaze misses the jab.
Blaze is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Arellius has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Blaze finds it's way round the side to connect with Arellius's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blaze blocks the body kick.
Arellius on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Blaze scores with a punch to the head.
Blaze lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Alexander Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaze misses with a kick to the body.
Good leg kick by Blaze there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Blaze cracks Arellius with a right hand to the side of the head.
Blaze uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Blaze throws a body shot but no joy.
Arellius appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Blaze scores with a shot to the body.
Blaze smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Arellius on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Arellius scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Blaze doesn't seem bothered though.
Arellius misses with an uppercut

Blaze fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Arellius.
Both fighters circling a little - Blaze finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Blaze feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Arellius's calf.
A slow jab from Blaze misses its intended target.
Blaze misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arellius.
Arellius attempts a counter takedown but Blaze avoids it well and moves away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Blaze lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Arellius has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Arellius and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Arellius is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Blaze blocks a jab.
Blaze was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Nice uppercut lands for Blaze. That snapped Arellius's head back.

Blaze uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Arellius.
The crowd cheers as Blaze lands an impressive looking overhand right. Arellius doesn't seem phased though.

Arellius fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Blaze is out of range.
Blaze is looking to slow Arellius down with leg kicks.
Blaze swings for the body but Arellius moves out of range.
Blaze keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Blaze has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Blaze dips to his left and cracks Arellius with an uppercut!
A solid leg kick lands there for Blaze.
Arellius will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Titus Arellius. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looks like Titus Arellius has been cut.
Arellius fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blaze has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Blaze scores with a crisp jab that stopped Arellius in his tracks.

Arellius takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Blaze fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Arellius throws out a leg kick but Blaze moves out of range and Arellius only half commits.
Alexander Blaze seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Blaze loads up on a big right hand but Arellius slips the punch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Blaze makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Arellius is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A jab lands there for Blaze.
Blaze throws a head kick that Arellius semi-blocks.
Arellius on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Blaze. Blaze obviously looking to wear him down.
Arellius closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Arellius throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blaze swings for the body but Arellius moves out of range.

Blaze scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Arellius takes one to the side of the head.
Blaze lands with a straight right. Arellius didn't see that one coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Arellius moves forwards but Blaze connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Arellius is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Blaze's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Blaze connects with a right hand. Arellius shakes it off.
Oh Arellius is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blaze swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Arellius seems to have got his legs back now.
Crunch! Blaze slams his shin into Arellius's torso.
Blaze fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Blaze connects with a solid leg kick.
Blaze throws a shot to the body.
Blaze fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Blaze dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Blaze throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Arellius on the side of the head.
Arellius walks into a straight right hand from Blaze.

Oooooh!!! Blaze has knocked Arellius down with a huge combo! Blaze steps away and waves a wobbly Arellius back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Arellius. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Blaze closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Arellius! Blaze dives in looking to finish! Arellius is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
