Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny General (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kunle Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kunle Jones!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands a nice looking body kick.
Johnny General seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
General goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Kunle Jones has been cut.
General fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones thuds his shin into the meat of General's side.
Jones lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
General throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing General off to one side.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
General connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
General has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jones.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
General tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

And Jones responds with a good body kick, but General manages to step out the way in time.

General shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. General gets slowly back to his feet.

General uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Jones looks for the body kick but General saw that one coming.

General tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

As Jones tries to get set, General tries to push him back and clinch up but Jones manages to avoid the attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and General has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kunle Jones dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

General shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but General finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jones is looking for a sweep. General is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've been hearing good reports from General's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

General stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.

A quick step to the side and General tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by General or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad.
