Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Von Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen Rest In Peace as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Von Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cameron James!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Dodson persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.

James rushes Dodson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Dodson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dodson gets caught napping as James dives in and scores a takedown. Dodson manages to retain guard.
James throws a big elbow that misses.
James postures up in Dodson's guard and throws a big left but Dodson blocks it.

Dodson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

James parries the strikes from Dodson easily there. Dodson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable James to escape.
Dodson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
James tries to bench press Dodson off him but Dodson keeps the position.

James should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

James is trying to push Dodson away but Dodson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Dodson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dodson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
