The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landry missing with a left hand there. Degrizz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Landry lands a slapping body shot.
Landry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Landry waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Degrizz.
A head kick misses from Landry.
Degrizz cracks Landry with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Landry lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Landry lands a big head kick that sends Degrizz tumbling to the mat! Landry takes a step backwards and waves Degrizz back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Jim Degrizz has been cut.

Degrizz blocks a low kick nicely.
Degrizz thinks about countering with a head kick.
We've been hearing reports that Degrizz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Brutus Landry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Landry motions for Degrizz to come forward. Landry throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Degrizz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Landry is trying to defend but Degrizz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Degrizz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Degrizz wants to free his trapped foot but Landry is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Degrizz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Landry is just riding it out for now. Degrizz eventually gives up the hold.
Landry is looking for a sweep. Degrizz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Landry lands a left and a right that send Degrizz crashing to the mat, dazed. Landry thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Landry drops Degrizz with a beautiful combination! Degrizz stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Landry is looking for the KO!
Oh Degrizz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Landry moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Landry lands with a nice body kick.
Landry circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Degrizz tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Landry wins by KO!
