Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Di Vaio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stanson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Di Vaio's head.
Di Vaio is trying to control the position but Stanson postures up.
Stanson lands a couple of digs.
Stanson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Di Vaio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Di Vaio is on top in guard.
Stanson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Di Vaio in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Di Vaio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stanson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stanson wants to get back to his feet but Di Vaio is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Di Vaio is looking to work some ground and pound but Stanson has wrist control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Di Vaio enables Stanson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Di Vaio manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stanson wants to stand but Di Vaio is controlling his posture from full guard.
Stanson throws a big right hand that misses.

Stanson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Di Vaio has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Stanson is looking to defend but Di Vaio has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Stanson! Di Vaio pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Stanson taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Filippo Di Vaio!
