Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jo Hagar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nolan Stuart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jo Hagar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hagar closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stuart's guard.
Hagar controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hagar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stuart works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hagar won't allow Stuart to get back to his feet.
Hagar forces his way into half guard.

Hagar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stuart is staying active underneath Hagar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hagar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hagar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hagar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hagar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stuart defending well though.
Hagar trying to mount his opponent but Stuart defends it.

Hagar stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hagar walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stuart checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stuart gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hagar to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hagar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hagar sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hagar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hagar has gone for a leg lock! Stuart slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hagar's guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hagar doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Hagar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stuart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hagar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stuart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stuart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stuart trying to control the position from guard on top but Hagar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hagar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jo Hagar dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hagar misses with a head kick.
Hagar misses with a double jab.
Hagar throws a leg kick that is checked
and Stuart counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hagar distracts Stuart with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stuart is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hagar advances position into side control!

Hagar tries to stand but Stuart controls the position and pulls Hagar into his guard.
Hagar tries to stand but Stuart is controlling from the bottom.
Hagar trying to control but Stuart is working from the bottom.
Hagar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stuart haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Jo Hagar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hagar passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You can see the frustration on Stuart's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hagar landing strikes.
Stuart is not content to let Hagar control the position.
Stuart trying to remain calm as Hagar controls from the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stuart dodges the ground and pound from Hagar.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hagar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hagar scoring with punches from side control.
Hagar wants to stand but Stuart has his arm trapped.
Hagar throws an elbow but Stuart slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hagar just content to control the position.
Hagar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hagar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stuart keeps working.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hagar happy to just control the position for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jo Hagar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Stuart blocks a low kick nicely.

Stuart feints and as Hagar raises his hands in defense, Stuart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hagar looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stuart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hagar has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stuart doesn't defend quickly enough and Hagar has managed to lock this one up! Can Stuart escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hagar on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jo Hagar!
