Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shannon Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blue Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shannon Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blue Steven!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steven throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Page connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Steven tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Steven closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Page quickly recovers to half guard.
Page trying to control here.
Steven prevents Page from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Page gets full guard.
Steven trying to control but Page is working from the bottom.
Steven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Page. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Page striking off his back but it's not causing Steven any problems.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

Page has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Steven is proving hard to escape from.
Page sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Page postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Page throws a big right hand that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Page is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Page has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Steven tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Steven moves into the clinch.

Steven breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steven throws a head kick that Page semi-blocks.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Steven.
Page manages to get back to half guard.
Steven looks winded!

Steven must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Page is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Steven defends well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

Page stands up and waves to Steven to follow him.
Page circles away from the clinch attempt

and Page counters with a takedown into side control.
Page throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Page happy to just control the position for now.
Steven defending against the ground and pound.

Page looks up at the clock and then as Steven takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Page smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Steven throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Page was covering up waiting for the punch and Steven finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Page lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Page chips away with some ground and pound.
Page controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Page throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Steven works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Steven is breathing heavily.

Page in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Page lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Shannon Page overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Page is stalling in the full guard.
Page is working Steven over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Page controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Page clinches.

Page gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Page in particular looking to stall.
Steven taking some punishment here, with Page in his half guard.
Page slips a nice elbow through Steven's hands, connecting with Steven's forehead.
Page scoring with strikes to the body and head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Page looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steven with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Page gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Steven tries to keep at a distance but Page has taken the fight into the clinch.
Page slowing the pace effectively.

Page has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steven is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Page tries to pull guard but Steven holds him up against the cage and eventually Page drops back down to his feet.

Page wants the takedown. Steven is fighting it off but Page persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Steven's guard against the cage.

Page throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Steven works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Page could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Page showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Steven breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Steven shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Steven showed some decent athleticism there.
Page is holding on to half guard well.
Page is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Page looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Page looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steven thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Page's head.
Page gets back to full guard.
Page has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Steven has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Page to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Steven is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Page pulls down on the head and he's put Steven to sleep! This one is all over!
