PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rcrs Sarabjit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Doolin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rcrs Sarabjit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonny Doolin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sarabjit fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Doolin to the ground. Sarabjit is now in Doolin's guard.

Doolin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sarabjit is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Doolin.
Doolin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sarabjit's best efforts.
Sarabjit wants to pass to mount but Doolin is defending the position.
Doolin gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doolin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sarabjit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doolin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Doolin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sarabjit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sarabjit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Doolin is looking for a triangle here but Sarabjit uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Doolin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Doolin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sarabjit's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Doolin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sarabjit is looking for a kimura but Doolin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sarabjit to get the leverage.

Doolin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Doolin is working for a kimura but Sarabjit is defending it quite comfortably.

Sarabjit is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Doolin pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Doolin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sarabjit sees it coming and defends easily.

Doolin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Doolin is trying to work for a kimura but Sarabjit is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonny Doolin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sarabjit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doolin circles away quickly and effectively.

Sarabjit has Doolin up against the cage in a clinch.

Sarabjit breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Doolin forces Sarabjit back against the cage and clinches.

Doolin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doolin has his foot on Sarabjit's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sarabjit works his way back into a safe position though.
Doolin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Doolin is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sarabjit throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Doolin's body to avoid the submission. Doolin has instead reached around Sarabjit's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Doolin arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jonny Doolin!
Jonny Doolin tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
