Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Belliveau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Staunton!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staunton cracks Belliveau with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Staunton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Belliveau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Staunton somewhat.
Belliveau stuffs the takedown attempt from Staunton. Staunton gets slowly back to his feet.
Steve Staunton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belliveau gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Staunton controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Belliveau can't keep his opponent in guard - Staunton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Staunton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Staunton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Staunton throws an overhand right that lands on Belliveau's shoulder, as Belliveau tries to avoid the shot.
Belliveau feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Staunton or perhaps it was just good defense by Belliveau, which made it look bad.
Staunton shoots in but no luck this time.

Staunton dives in for a single leg takedown but Belliveau sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Staunton shoots in looking for a takedown. Belliveau tries to sprawl out of it but Staunton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belliveau manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Staunton is breathing heavily.
Staunton is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Belliveau doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Staunton crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Staunton's bad books for that mishap!
