Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marek Jebut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Duddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duddy has chosen Dropkick Murphys - 'Loyal to No One' as his entrance music. Marek Jebut had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marek Jebut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Duddy!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jebut closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Duddy to the mat! Duddy manages to get full guard.
Jebut missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Duddy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jebut pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duddy is keeping the position for now.
Jebut looking to sit in guard and control but Duddy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Duddy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jebut manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Duddy has Jebut in his guard.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Jebut is pushing Duddy up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Jebut pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jebut is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Duddy can do to turn this around?

Duddy has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Jebut seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Duddy can turn it around.

It looks like John Duddy has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jebut throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jebut has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Duddy.
Duddy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jebut's calf.
A big left from Jebut misses.
Jebut looks to land a right hand but Duddy moved out of range.
Duddy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jebut lands with a good body shot.
John Duddy seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Duddy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jebut pinned against the cage. Jebut gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Marek Jebut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Duddy.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jebut feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Jebut has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Marek Jebut decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
