Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Frankerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Frankerson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frankerson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fox to the mat! Fox manages to get full guard.
Fox being controlled here, momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frankerson is pushing down on Fox's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fox is fighting to maintain full guard but Frankerson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Frankerson is thwarting Fox's attempts to control the position.
Fox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Frankerson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frankerson is controlling the pace.
Frankerson is nestled in close to Fox, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fox is trying to escape back to his feet but Frankerson uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fox wants to clinch but Frankerson slips to the side

and Frankerson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Frankerson lands strikes from half guard.
Fox has hold of Frankerson's hands but Frankerson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fox is pressing down on Frankerson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Frankerson is stalling in the full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Frankerson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Frankerson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fox will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Frankerson stays in close to Fox's body and controls the position.

It looks like Frankerson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Frankerson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Frankerson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Frankerson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fox is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Frankerson dominated that round.

Fox throws a right and a left that both miss.

Fox gets caught napping as Frankerson dives in and scores a takedown. Fox manages to retain guard.
Frankerson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fox is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Frankerson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fox dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Frankerson on the ground.
Frankerson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Fox in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fox has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frankerson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fox has managed to get both his arms back between Frankerson's legs - danger averted.
Frankerson has Fox pulled in close to control his posture.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fox throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Frankerson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Frankerson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fox fails to land with a series of punches.
Fox lands the left hand.
Fox shoots in for a takedown but Frankerson shows good takedown defense.

Fox takes the fight into the clinch.

Frankerson manages to break the clinch.

Frankerson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Frankerson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Fox!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Frankerson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Let's hope that Frankerson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fox takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Frankerson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
