The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong misses with a hook.
Spong throws a body punch but Key moves out of range.
It looked like Key was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Spong.
Key could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nice body punch from Spong.
Spong cracks Key with a good jab.
It looks like Ian Key has been cut.
Spong throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Key on the side of the head.
Spong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Spong digs a good body shot into Key's ribs.
Spong lands a big right hook! Key looks hurt but is still standing! Spong lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Key falls down and Spong dives in with a huge hammer fist! Key's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Spong runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jerome Spong!
Jerome Spong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
