Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ian Odonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Lund Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ian Odonnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kent Lund Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Odonnell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hansen!
Odonnell is looking to take a break and control but Hansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Odonnell prevents Hansen from escaping the position.
Odonnell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Odonnell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ground and pound from Odonnell seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Odonnell throws an elbow but Hansen slips to the side and avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on Hansen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hansen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Odonnell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Hansen looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Hansen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Odonnell is working away from the top position though.
Hansen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Odonnell haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Odonnell is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hansen is pressing down on Odonnell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hansen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Odonnell is aware though and is defending well.
Odonnell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hansen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Odonnell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Odonnell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hansen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hansen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Odonnell defends it easily.

Odonnell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Odonnell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Odonnell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Odonnell wants to get up but he can't break Hansen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Hansen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Odonnell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hansen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Odonnell is working hard here to advance position.
Hansen prevents Odonnell from escaping the position.

Hansen controls the position from side control.
Odonnell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Odonnell is looking to regain half guard here but Hansen keeps moving and retains side control.
Hansen in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Odonnell avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hansen.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Odonnell looking for a sweep but Hansen has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Odonnell is trying desperately to improve position.
Hansen working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hansen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Odonnell hang on?

Odonnell swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kent Lund Hansen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Hansen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Odonnell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Odonnell regains half guard, as Hansen was trying to land strikes.

Hansen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Odonnell sees it coming and defends easily.
Odonnell wants to get back to full guard.

Odonnell is looking to improve his position.

Odonnell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hansen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hansen's back!

Hansen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hansen is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Odonnell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hansen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Odonnell thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Odonnell. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Odonnell punches Hansen on the ear.

Odonnell is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hansen has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Hansen is covering up but some of the strikes from Odonnell are getting through and doing damage.

Hansen trying to control the hands but Odonnell won't let him.
Odonnell wants to control but Hansen is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hansen takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Even with his hooks in, Odonnell manages to miss with strikes from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Hansen wants to control from the top but Odonnell keeps moving.
Odonnell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hansen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Hansen tries to clinch but Odonnell is having none of it.
Odonnell changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Odonnell fails to land the takedown.
Hansen let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Hansen throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hansen gets tackled into the cage by Odonnell. Odonnell maintains the clinch.
Hansen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Odonnell.

Hansen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Odonnell is trying to keep an underhook but Hansen manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Hansen wants to pass the guard but Odonnell is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Odonnell keeps working.
Kent Lund Hansen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hansen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Odonnell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Odonnell.
Hansen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hansen stands up out of the half guard.

Odonnell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Odonnell scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Odonnell fails with the takedown

and Hansen counters by clinching up.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Odonnell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Odonnell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hansen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Odonnell to the mat. Odonnell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Hansen stands up and waves to Odonnell to follow him.
Odonnell dives in for a single leg takedown but Hansen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kent Lund Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hansen shoots in and gets a takedown into Odonnell's guard.
Odonnell wants to sweep but no luck.
Hansen sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Hansen is pushing down on Odonnell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Odonnell is fighting to maintain full guard but Hansen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Odonnell tries to roll over but Hansen keeps him under control.
Well, if Hansen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kent Lund Hansen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
