Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Monterrey!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monterrey slips under a jab from Zero.
A telegraphed right hand from Zero misses the target.
Monterrey scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Zero doesn't seem bothered though.
Monterrey scores with a hook to the body. Zero takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Zero on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


It looks like Sub Zero has been cut.

Monterrey is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Zero with a body shot.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Monterrey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

With the fighters up against the cage, Zero throws an elbow but misses.

The cut above John Monterrey's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monterrey utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Monterrey scores with a nice hook to the head.
Monterrey lands a left hand that snaps the head of Zero backwards.

Jeez, Sub Zero's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Zero manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Monterrey dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Zero walks into a stiff left hand from Monterrey.
Monterrey walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Monterrey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Zero.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Monterrey counters with a head kick. That will keep Zero thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sub Zero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Monterrey!
A relieved looking John Monterrey thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
