Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Whitecoat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Whitecoat's choice of entrance music: Seven Nation Army. Jake Shields is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

22 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Whitecoat!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Eliza Hachem and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Shields takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Shields takes one to the side of the head.
It looks like Jake Shields has been cut.
Whitecoat lands with a nice body punch.
Shields gets tackled into the cage by Whitecoat. Whitecoat maintains the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shields changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Whitecoat fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Whitecoat cracks Shields with a good jab.

Axel Whitecoat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Whitecoat throws a shot from downtown. Shields moves away and avoids it.
Whitecoat rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Shields counters with a single leg into guard. Whitecoat didn't expect that.
Shields postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Whitecoat is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shields, into his guard.

Shields is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Whitecoat is aware though and is defending well.

Shields had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Whitecoat defends it easily.
Whitecoat must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Whitecoat stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Shields has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Whitecoat manages to get his head free but now Shields has transitioned to an armbar! Whitecoat grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Shields! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
