PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Vinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Antero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antero has chosen Talk shit, get shot as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Antero looking to score a takedown here. Vinson is defending well but Antero drives through and ends up in Vinson's guard.

Antero drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vinson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Antero has Vinson in his guard.

Antero looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Antero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vinson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vinson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Antero can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vinson looking to sit in guard and control but Antero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Antero trying to control but Vinson is working from the bottom.
Antero wants to pass the guard but Vinson is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Antero trying to control the position from guard on top but Vinson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Antero is looking to work some ground and pound but Vinson has wrist control.
Antero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Antero is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Antero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Antero throws a big elbow that misses.

Antero drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vinson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vinson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vinson!

Vinson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Antero keeps working.
Vinson looking to control but instead Antero has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Antero tries to roll over but Vinson keeps him under control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Antero actively working from the bottom here.

Antero keeping control of the position.
Vinson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vinson wants to control but Antero is keeping him busy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Antero is positioning himself well to prevent Vinson advancing to mount.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Antero gets a double leg takedown into Vinson's guard.

Antero tries to free his leg and advance position but Vinson is retaining full guard.

Antero drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Antero seems to have locked his on tight now - Vinson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Antero, as he picks up the win!
