Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goodwin gets caught napping as Mata dives in and scores a takedown. Goodwin manages to retain guard.
Mata throwing strikes from guard but Goodwin blocks nicely.
Mata wants to control from the top but Goodwin keeps moving.
Goodwin pulls Mata in to control the position.
Goodwin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mata throws a strike but Goodwin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Goodwin throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mata working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goodwin.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Goodwin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Mata wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Goodwin is now in half guard.

Goodwin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodwin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mata has hold of Goodwin's hands but Goodwin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Goodwin thows a huge punch but Mata dodges it nicely.
Goodwin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Goodwin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mata did well to prevent Goodwin getting side control.

Mata has a hand on Goodwin's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Goodwin takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Goodwin wants to finish this one by submission but Mata is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Goodwin.
Mata wants to hold on but Goodwin pushes him away.
Mata is in all sorts of trouble here.

Goodwin unloads with some shots from mount but Mata bucks and avoids them well.
Goodwin with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Poor strikes thrown by Goodwin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Goodwin quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Goodwin but it's paid off an Mata is forced to tap! Nice work by Goodwin.
