Helm is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Spazzin - Gary Podunk. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Theodorou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Helm!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helm ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Theodorou moves away.
Theodorou attempts a counter takedown but Helm avoids it well and moves away.
Helm misses with a wild combination.
Helm scores with a jab. Theodorou acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Jake Theodorou has been cut.

Theodorou shoots in and bounces Helm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Theodorou pushing down on Helm's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Theodorou throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Theodorou thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Helm's head.
Theodorou definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Helm can do anything to dispel that myth.
Helm blocking the ground and pound attempt from Theodorou.
Theodorou is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Theodorou takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Helm is trying to stand back up but Theodorou is controlling him
Theodorou working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Theodorou thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Helm's head.
Theodorou uses his free foot to push down on Helm's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Helm.
Helm in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Helm looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Theodorou trying to control but Helm is having none of it.
Theodorou lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Theodorou connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Theodorou lands with some strikes.
Theodorou lands a big elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Theodorou unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Helm wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Theodorou celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Theodorou!
Jake Theodorou decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
James Helm spoke after the fight, saying 'It's time to get back the gym and grind harder for next time.'.
