Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kane Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Marcum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Kane Yamada!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heath Marcum!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcum uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Yamada.
Marcum shoots in for a takedown but Yamada shows good takedown defense.

Yamada has managed to clinch.
Marcum has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yamada is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've been informed that Marcum has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Marcum has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yamada is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Marcum shoots in for a takedown but Yamada shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
As Marcum tries to get set, Yamada tries to push him back and clinch up but Marcum manages to avoid the attempt.
Marcum looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yamada is fending him off so far but Marcum persists. Nope, Yamada circles away and we're back to standing.
Heath Marcum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marcum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yamada tries to avoid it but Marcum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yamada to the ground. Yamada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yamada tries a low kick but Marcum avoids it.

Yamada moves into the clinch.
Yamada lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Yamada pushes Marcum back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Yamada tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Marcum's elbow.

Marcum has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Yamada regains guard immediately.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marcum is looking for a sweep. Yamada is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marcum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Yamada looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marcum is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Yamada is staying active.

Marcum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yamada defends well and Marcum ends up having to push Yamada into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Marcum throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Yamada is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marcum can do to turn this around?

Heath Marcum has got the better of the ground game so far.
Marcum is landing with strikes from the back.
Yamada is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yamada just trying to survive but Marcum is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Yamada tries to escape but Marcum has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kane Yamada will probably get the nod.
That's time! Yamada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
