Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asko Vilenius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Ferrigno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vilenius might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Surfin Bird. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Asko Vilenius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Ferrigno!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrigno tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vilenius defends well and Ferrigno ends up having to push Vilenius into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ferrigno shoots in and drives through. Vilenius sprawls well.
Vilenius takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Vilenius's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ferrigno under the eye.

Nice takedown defense from Vilenius. No joy for Ferrigno on that attempt.
Asko Vilenius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lou Ferrigno.
Vilenius throws the left hand but Ferrigno avoids the punch easily.
Ferrigno goes for a double leg but Vilenius avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vilenius continues to drive forward.
Vilenius wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vilenius connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ferrigno. Ferrigno circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ferrigno misses with the combination.
Vilenius displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ferrigno throws out the jab.
Vilenius lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vilenius lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vilenius pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Vilenius postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ferrigno looks a forlorn figure.

Vilenius connects with a couple of short punches.
Vilenius makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Vilenius trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferrigno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ferrigno is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ferrigno escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vilenius gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ferrigno lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vilenius is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ferrigno.

Ferrigno shoots in for a takedown but Vilenius shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Vilenius was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ferrigno.
Ferrigno throws an overhand right that lands on Vilenius's shoulder, as Vilenius tries to avoid the shot.

Vilenius fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ferrigno looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vilenius. Ferrigno does a little dance to reset his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vilenius ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferrigno moves away.
Lou Ferrigno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vilenius stands up over Ferrigno, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Vilenius avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Vilenius has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ferrigno to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vilenius is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ferrigno pulls down on the head and he's put Vilenius to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Lou Ferrigno!
